Theresa M. Tommell, DVM

Originally from the Capital District, Dr. Tommell began her veterinary career as a technician in 1997. From SUNY Delhi she earned an A.A.S. in veterinary medicine and became a licensed veterinary technician (LVT).   In 2002 she earned her B.S. in Biology from Siena College. During her undergraduate studies she continued to work as an LVT. Dr. Tommell attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine from 2003 to 2005. Next she completed a clinical year at Virginia Tech and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2006.

Dr. Tommell’s professional interests include surgery, internal medicine and dentistry. In 2008 Dr. Tommell and her husband, Nick were blessed with a son. Over the years they have rescued many animals that currently include a mother cat and her three sons, two other cats, two dogs one from St. Kitts and the other from Virginia Tech, a red eared slider, a few barn cats and a pigmy goat.  Dr. Tommell can also be found assisting her husband with livestock health on their cattle farm.

 Dr. Tommell has been a part of the Just Cats family before, as a LVT in 2002 and as a DVM part-time in 2008 and is very excited to be returning!
