Annual Wellness Exams

Cats age much faster than we do, and a lot can happen in a year. The doctor will look at your cat’s ears, teeth, and skin; ascultate (listen to) the heart and lungs; and palpate (feel) the abdomen and thyroid for any abnormalities. We do recommend annual exams so we can ensure your cat stays an integral part of your family as long as possible.

Many cats over fifteen years old will require semi annual exams since changes can occur much quicker as cats age.

Our veterinarians exam each cat individually and tailor their vaccination protocol to your cat’s lifestyle and age.

Ninety percent of cats over age eight have dental disease, which can lead to heart and kidney disease. Our doctors will recommend when to schedule a dental cleaning.

Routine Blood Screening
Cats should have their liver, kidneys, glucose, thyroid, and blood cells checked annually. Early detection of disease gives your cat the best chance of treatment and recovery. Cats are notorious for hiding pain, and often they won’t show any outward symptoms of disease or a problem, so we recommend this blood work. Our complete in-hospital laboratory enables us to perform these tests quickly and accurately.
