Casper’s Second Chance: The Power of the Nine Lives Fund
Sometimes, a cat needs more than medical care, they need a little help from an entire community.
Casper is a sweet 3-year-old cat who came to Just Cats Veterinary Clinic with severe periodontal disease. His dental disease was extensive and painful, and he needed significant dental treatment to address the infection and discomfort affecting his quality of life.
Casper’s case was complicated by another concern.
During his examination, Casper was found to have a heart murmur and an abnormal BNP test, a test that can provide information about cardiac stress and possible heart disease. This meant that Casper’s dental procedure, while desperately needed, also carried additional considerations and required careful planning and monitoring.
In other words, Casper needed his dental disease addressed, and his heart condition made the procedure more delicate.
The extent of Casper’s dental disease, combined with the additional precautions necessary because of his heart concerns, made this a complex and costly procedure.
Unfortunately, Casper’s family could not afford the full cost of the care he needed.
This is exactly where the Just Cats Nine Lives Fund can make a difference.
The Nine Lives Fund was created to help cats whose families are facing financial hardship, and still have a chance at a healthier, more comfortable life with appropriate veterinary care.
Thanks to generous donations from our Just Cats community, we were able to help Casper get the treatment he desperately needed.
And because we believe so strongly in this mission, Just Cats matched the donations, and contributed additional funds, to help make Casper’s care possible.
