Just Cats Veterinary Clinic Welcomes Dr. Amanda Kennedy

Amanda Kennedy, DVM, DABVP (Feline)

The Just Cats team is delighted to introduce Dr. Amanda Kennedy. We’re so excited to have her with us, and we know her knowledge, enthusiasm and love for cats will be a tremendous benefit to you and your feline family members.

Dr. Kennedy is a graduate of the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University and a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners in Feline Practice since 2021. We’re particularly fortunate to have her on board because she is one of only two board certified feline specialists in the state of New York.

After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Kennedy completed a 2 year residency in feline medicine and worked at a cats-only veterinary clinic in Columbus, Ohio, providing high-level feline medicine and surgical care to her patients. Dr. Kennedy is also experienced in performing minimally invasive diagnostics such as abdominal ultrasound and fine needle aspiration, along with advanced feline-specific surgical procedures that include perineal urethrostomy, subtotal colectomy, ventral bullae osteotomy, placement of feeding tubes, oncologic surgery, and advanced feline dentistry. Dr. Kennedy has participated in numerous research studies and clinical trials for emerging feline treatments and has won awards for her work. She is also a Certified Cat-Friendly Veterinarian through the American Association of Feline Practitioners.

Dr. Kennedy spent time in Saratoga Springs as a child. She and her husband were missing upstate New York while living in Ohio—they especially love the snow, the state’s natural beauty and fabulous hiking spots. She’s also grateful that New York has become the first state to ban declawing.

Dr. Kennedy says she is impressed by Dr. Sikule and the culture and community of Just Cats Veterinary Clinic. She’s thrilled to have joined the team and looks forward to meeting you and your cats.
